BitLedger · For tax advisors

Your clients' crypto tax reports, reviewed rather than retyped

Your client connects their wallets and exchanges themselves. You see their transactions, review the open points and download the finished report, without spreadsheets and without login details by email.

How you get to your clients

  1. Your client invites you. Under Settings → Tax advisor they enter your email address and choose what you may do. The invitation is valid only for exactly that address.
  2. You sign up as a tax advisor through the link in the email, or accept the invitation if your practice already has an account.
  3. You set up two-factor sign-in. Without it you see no client data.
  4. Under «Clients» you then find everyone who has invited you, in one list.

As a team: under Settings → Practice and team you set up your practice and invite colleagues. If a client allows their practice's team to access too, everyone in the team sees them with the same rights, and every access appears for the client with the person's name.

What you see in the client list

  • Open review items per client: transactions someone still needs to look at.
  • Wallets with errors and when they were last synced.
  • Paid tax years and the finished reports as PDF.
  • «Open dashboard» shows the client's account as they see it; a banner says whose account it is and what you may do.

On Mondays you receive a weekly overview by email when there is something to do for a client. Practice name, email language and notifications are set in Settings.

Review instead of asking

With the access «Read and review transactions» you change classification, activity type and price, mark transactions as reviewed and create rules for similar transactions. Such a rule appears for the client marked «by tax advisor», and every change in their access log.

Deleting, wallets, settings and purchases stay with the client in every case, and locked tax years stay locked. With «Read only» you change nothing.

How BitLedger classifies and values, and where its limits are, is in the method.

What it costs, and who pays

Your practice's account is free. You pay per client and tax year, once and without a subscription. The price depends on the number of the client's transactions in the tax year.

TierTransactionsSwitzerlandGermany, Austria
Starterup to 500CHF 49EUR 49
Standardup to 3,000CHF 89EUR 99
Proup to 20,000CHF 179EUR 189
UnlimitedunlimitedCHF 399EUR 429

Prices plus VAT. The client can pay themselves, or your practice can. If you buy for several clients at once, you receive one invoice made out to the practice, with the clients' names. A tax year is never paid twice: if the client has already bought it, they are left out of your purchase.

Purchases are currently possible for accounts in Switzerland. For Germany and Austria, sales follow once our VAT registration applies there; you can already work with your clients from those countries until then.

What your client sees

Every access of yours, under Settings → Tax advisor: what was opened, downloaded or changed. There they change your access or withdraw it; that applies from your next request. How we handle the data is in the privacy policy.

Frequently asked questions

What does BitLedger cost the practice?
The practice's account is free. You pay per client and tax year, by the number of the client's transactions, from CHF 49 plus VAT. Either the client pays or your practice does, also for several clients on one invoice.
Can I create clients myself?
No. The client creates their own account and invites you under Settings → Tax advisor. That keeps the data under their control: they choose what you may do, see every access of yours and can withdraw it at any time.
Can colleagues work with me?
Yes. Under Settings → Practice and team you set up your practice and invite colleagues by email. They see the clients who allow their practice's team to access too, with the same rights as you. The client sees who belongs to the team, and every access with the person's name.
What may I change in the client's account?
With «Read only», nothing: you see holdings, wallets, transactions and finished reports. With «Read and review transactions» you also change classification, activity type and price, mark transactions as reviewed and create rules for similar transactions. Deleting, wallets, settings and purchases stay with the client, and locked tax years stay locked.
Do I get an invoice made out to the practice?
Yes. When the practice buys, the invoice goes to the practice; you can enter your UID (Swiss business number) at checkout. A purchase for several clients names them on the invoice. You find all invoices in Settings afterwards.
What happens when a client withdraws access?
It ends with your next request. Purchased tax years stay with the client, even if your practice paid for them.
Does BitLedger replace tax advice?
No. BitLedger provides the figures, how they were reached down to the single transaction, and the open points. Judging the individual case and the return stay with you.
